Harbhajan Singh believes that if Ishan Kishan begins the batting with Rohit Sharma in the future games, India may get off to a fast start. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma began the batting for India in the T20 World Cup 2021 against Pakistan on Sunday, scoring 0 and 3 runs, respectively.

India has practised both opening combinations in the warm-up matches leading up to the Super 12s. KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan started the batting against England, as Rohit Sharma was rested. The duo put on an 82-run partnership in 49 balls to give India a flying start. Ishan Kishan hammered seven fours and three sixes for his 46-ball 70, while Rahul plundered 51 runs off only 24 balls.

Rohit began with KL Rahul (39) in the second warm-up against Australia, scoring 60 runs off just 41 balls to win the match. The 34-year-old chose to leave the game early.

Harbhajan Singh has advised that India’s opening partnership should be changed in order to have the ideal start in their match against New Zealand on Sunday. The 41-year-old believes that Ishan Kishan, a “explosive batter,” would be able to put pressure on the bowlers.

“I believe that Ishan Kishan must be included in the starting lineup. If he begins with Rohit Sharma, India may get off to the kind of start they’re hoping for “Harbhajan noticed this on his YouTube channel.

“Kishan is a powerful batter who will put any bowler under strain. He’s also in terrific shape. He was looking decent in the warm-up game as well, having played some excellent innings for Mumbai Indians towards the close of the IPL “Added he.

The match against New Zealand is essential for India, who are attempting to establish themselves in Group 2’s points table. After losing their opener to Pakistan on Tuesday, New Zealand will be similarly keen for a win.
