At the Al Amerat Cricket Ground on Thursday, Papua New Guinea all-rounder Charles Amini grabbed a spectacular catch at long-on to help his team remove Bangladesh star Shakib Al Hasan. The 29-year-catch old’s also helped Papua New Guinea break a vital 29-run stand between Shakib and Mahmudullah.
Shakib Al Hasan was well set on 46 from 36 balls in a must-win game for Bangladesh when he tried clearing the long-on delivery for a maximum in the 14th over. Amini, who was stationed in the deep, raced quickly towards the ball before leaping forward to clinch a superb low catch that helped Papua New Guinea get rid of Shakib in their last T20 World Cup 2021 match in the UAE and Oman.
Fans reacted quickly to Amini’s spectacular catch, since he is considered as one of Papua New Guinea’s greatest fielders.
