This game has come to an end. Namibia is still alive thanks to this historic victory, while the Netherlands are on the verge of being eliminated. Given the strong net run rates of Sri Lanka and Ireland, who will face off in the following game today, this outcome may be insignificant. In this style, though, you never know. Do your hop tabs and enjoy the second game of the doubleheader’s telecast. Cheers!
Gerhard Erasmus
For us, it was a special victory. It was challenging at the midway point of the chase. Wiese deserves credit for his outstanding performance in that particular inning. With the small boundary on one side, bowling was a little difficult. Both teams struggled to execute their bowling and fielding strategies. It’s a very memorable day for everyone involved, from the coaches to the administration to the players.
Pieter Seelar
It was probably a par score. Namibia bowled decently, but not spectacularly. We were in a worse situation. Obviously, in retrospect (would have bowled himself more). We tried a couple things that didn’t work out. Extremely difficult. We have a chance if Ireland beats Sri Lanka, but if they don’t, we’ll have to finish strong.

I’m weary, and it’s rather hot outside. It was just a matter of selecting the appropriate sides, as one of them was shorter. We were fortunate to hit that huge over before the drinks break because it gave us a boost of confidence. Playing such a knock in a World Cup match is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I’d want to express my gratitude to Namibia for allowing me to represent them.
Sport is difficult; you will constantly have conflicting feelings at the conclusion of a game since only one person can win. Take a look at the Namibian campers’ faces. This is quick growth for a side that only received ODI status in 2019, and their performance today against a quality Dutch side demonstrates how far they have progressed as an international squad. The chase got off to a good start through the openers, but within a few overs, they were in shambles at 51/3 in the ninth over. The asking rate was rising, and the Dutch were hoping for a win as well as a lift in their net run rate. However, Wiese gatecrashed their celebration, bringing all of his expertise to bear and hammering the bowlers for pleasure. His counterattack with Namibia’s captain Erasmus effectively ended the game. The latter couldn’t finish the game, but the outcome was all but settled by the time he left. Some of the Netherlands’ bowling strategies were startling, to say the least. They continued to hand up the position to a juggernaut like Wiese, who made them pay dearly.
