
MS Dhoni, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, has joined Team India’s camp in the UAE ahead of the 2021 T20 World Cup, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said on Sunday via images shared on Twitter. Dhoni, who just guided Chennai Super Kings to their fourth Indian Premier League (IPL) victory after defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the final on Tuesday, will join the Indian squad as a team consultant. Dhoni’s position as Team India’s coach is restricted to the T20 World Cup.

India will play two warm-up matches before the start of the T20 World Cup. The Virat Kohli-led team will face England in their first warm-up game on Monday, followed by a match against Australia on Wednesday.
On October 24, India will kick off their T20 World Cup campaign against archrivals Pakistan in Dubai.
Earlier on Saturday, Kohli stated that Dhoni’s participation in Team India’s camp will benefit the team.
