Ireland produced 177/3 in their first innings at Sheikh Zayed Stadium Nursery 2 field, with Gareth Delany hitting an unbeaten 88 runs off 50 balls. Andy Balbirnie, the captain, hit a 22-ball 25.

Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed took a hat trick, while Nasum Ahmed grabbed one wicket.

After that, Mark Adair grabbed three wickets for 33 runs as Ireland bowled Bangladesh out for 144 runs to win by 33 runs. Craig Young and Josh Little both grabbed two wickets.

Nurul Hasan (38 off 24) was Bangladesh’s best scorer. He and Soumya Sarkar (37 off 30) attempted to renew the chase, but other batsmen failed to assist them, and the chase was never resurrected.

In their first warm-up match, Ireland defeated Papua New Guinea by eight wickets. Bangladesh lost both of its warm-up matches, despite defeating visiting Australia and New Zealand at home. They were defeated by Sri Lanka by four wickets on Tuesday.

Bangladesh and Ireland are yet to qualify for the ICC T20 World Cup competition proper. They will compete in the first round of the preliminary competition.

In Group A, Ireland is joined by Namibia, the Netherlands, and Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka, together with Oman, Papua New Guinea, and Scotland, are in Group B.

The top two teams from each group qualify to the Super 12, where they will compete against the already qualified teams: India, Afghanistan, Australia, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and the West Indies.
