This year, Pakistan opener Mohammad Rizwan has been on a tear.
In the third T20I against West Indies, his amazing 87 helped Pakistan chase down a huge 208.
Rizwan became the first hitter to score 2,000 T20 runs in a calendar year during the match.

Rizwan, who was named Player of the Match, was the leading run-scorer in the three-match series.

Rizwan has had a fantastic T20I season so far. He had a good ICC T20 World Cup campaign, averaging 70.25 runs per innings.

This year, he has played crucial match-winning innings for Pakistan.

Pakistan’s opener has set numerous records, particularly in the shorter format.

Rizwan also led the West Indies T20I series with runs scored (203 runs).

Rizwan has became the first batter to score 2,000 T20 runs in a calendar year, as previously mentioned.

He had already broken the mark set by Chris Gayle, who scored 1,665 runs in 36 T20s in 2015.

This year, Rizwan’s colleague Babar Azam overtook Gayle.

In T20 cricket, the Pakistan captain has amassed 1,779 runs in 2021.

Rizwan made history earlier this year when he became the first hitter to reach 1,000 runs in a calendar year (T20Is).

He eclipsed the record of Paul Stirling of Ireland, who scored 748 T20I runs in 2019.

Rizwan scored 1,326 runs in 29 T20Is for an astounding average of 73.66 in 2021.

He had a hundred (104*) and twelve half-centuries on his record.

In 2015, Rizwan made his T20I debut against Bangladesh.

He has has 1,639 runs at a strike rate of 128.95 from 55 T20Is.

Rizwan is one of just two batsmen in the T20I tournament who has a T20I average of over 50. (51.21). The other is Kohli (52.04).

Rizwan has a total of 4,065 T20 runs. In 2021, he destroyed 2,036 of these, averaging 56.55.
