Scotland’s cricket team’s results in the T20 World Cup
Scotland was placed in group D of the inaugural T20 world cup in 2007, along with Pakistan and India. The team was defeated by Pakistan in the first game by 51 runs. South Asia took the first turn at bat and scored 171 runs in the allotted 20 overs, compared to Scotland’s 120 runs in 19.5 overs. The inexperienced batting was unable to withstand Pakistan’s sharp bowling and gave up way too soon. Due to low run rate, Scotland occupied the bottom of the table when the other group match was called off due to rain.
during the 2009 T20 World Cup’s second season in England. Together with South Africa and New Zealand, Scotland was in group D. In terms of performance, the squad fell to the strong opponents in both games. Scotland scored 89 runs in 7 overs against New Zealand, but the Kiwis needed only 6 overs to reach their target with 7 wickets remaining. Scotland made the decision to chase the PROTEAS’ massive total of 211 against South Africa. Because they were unable to, the innings ended at 81 runs in 15.3 over. The PROTEAS won by 130 runs. Considering how easily Scotland won both games, there was no indication of struggle.
