Tim David, a powerful batter, has been added to the 15-player team of the reigning champions, headed by Aaron Finch, for the T20 World Cup. The competition, which will take place in Australia, will start on October 16.

Mitchell Swepson is replaced on the team for the 2021 T20 World Cup by David, who successfully made the transition from Singapore and is now qualified to play for Australia. The 15-person roster for Australia has only seen just one alteration from the last competition.

In the UAE last year, the five-time ODI World Cup winners defeated New Zealand to win their first T20 championship. Mitchell Marsh, an all-rounder, was the hero of the performance, scoring an unbeaten 77 in 50 deliveries to lead the side to an eight-wicket victory in Dubai.

On October 22, Australia will start their season in a rematch of the previous edition’s championships. At Sydney Cricket Ground, they’ll face New Zealand.

The three-match T20I series against India, which starts on September 20, is uncertain with Marsh still recovering from an ankle injury. His absence from the current series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand was just announced, but he should be ready for the T20 World Cup.

Aaron Finch, David Warner, David, and Steve Smith are the four specialist hitters in the 15-person team, and there are also four all-rounders. The fast bowling attack will once again be led by Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc.
